Chromosome Deletion Outreach, Inc. (CDO) is a non-profit organization providing support & information to families affected by rare chromosome disorders. CDO is run by parent volunteers out of their homes.

Donations and payments to join or renew your CDO membership may be made by credit card. The CDO online application form uses SSL technology. Digital certificates encrypt data using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the industry-standard method for protecting web communications developed by Netscape Communications Corporation. The SSL security protocol provides data encryption, server authentication, message integrity, and optional client authentication for a TCP/IP connection. Additionally credit card information is not stored online. However, if you do not wish to send this information over the Internet, our family helpline is always available.

Every effort is made to provide the most accurate and timely information possible on this website. However, case reports and genetic journal articles may describe the findings in only a few persons with a specific deletion, duplication, translocation, inversion, ring or other chromosome disorder. The symptoms discussed in any article may or may not apply to a particular individual. Furthermore, the information contained on the CDO website, in our newsletter and in any electronic or regular mailing is to be used for informational and educational purposes only.

We will occasionally publish on our website frequently submitted website questions and answers in our new CDO FAQs section. Please refer to this section first - the answer you are looking for may be found there. It is not a substitute for professional medical care and advice. The board of Chromosome Deletion Outreach, Inc. (CDO) releases its members' names and contact information only to other CDO families or as each family requests. CDO utilizes password protection, a separate secure e-mail service for sensitive documents as well as firewalls and duplicate virus protection. If you wish your information to remain private and not released to others, please be assured your request will be honored. We respectfully request that anyone visiting our website honor our strict no solicitation policy. We feel very strongly that each member's privacy be protected.
